I use eBay and paypal quite a bit and I have just received a paypal payment from a buyer that has an unconfirmed address. Why do most eBay sellers not accept payment from a buyer with an unconfirmed address? What is the danger to me the seller if I accept this unconfirmed address payment.
Also it says that I am ineligible for seller protection on this payment. What does that mean? What is the worst that could happen if I accept this payment?

Next time insist thay anyone who buys from you has a verified address on Paypal. This is a pretty good safeguard that Paypal has of verifying the buyer is really who they say they are. It is a simple process and every honest buyer should confirm their address.
The danger if you accept the payment is that you could send the package and then the payment you recieve gets resended because of unsufficient funds … then there is no recourse for you. You have lost the merchandise and the payment.
The danger if you don’t accept the payment from them – because you didn’t make the stipulation in the auction that they had to have a confirmed address – is negative feedback.
Check their feedback rating and if they have a good rating – 99 – 100 % positive feedback – then you should be okay with accepting the payment and sending the package.
Well, they could have entered a bogus address, and you send the package, and they don’t recieve it because obviously its a bad address. Then the buyer complains, and you have to give them their money back, but yet you dont have your merchandise either.. Which makes you the loser in the situation..
The seller protection should protect you if this happens.
