How to use a debit card for paypal? I tried to link my debit card to my paypal account but unfortunately it cant be done. Thus, my account is not verified yet. It said that the card has been denied. This is daunting.

Check with Maybank. See if your credit standing is OK. Let them know your intention too. Paypal should work. If it doesn’t check with Paypal to see if it is accepted in your country.
A verification code with a small refundable deduction will be reflected in your billing statement. If you cannot wait for the statement call your bank and ask for the code in a couple of days. Use this code to verify your Paypal account.
