This is tricky. If your buyer is doing an e-check from their bank account to your PayPal account you must wait for the e-check to clear, even though the buyer has completed the payment. Do not send merchandise until you are certain you have the cash.
Therefore, in order to feel safer, wait until the fund have been cleared in YOUR bank account.
As a seller on eBay, I have on occasion had money REMOVED from my account when my buyer’s bank failed to honor the money transfer & their back-up payment method, a credit card, was declined.
Proceed with caution. Trust your instincts. And, remember to be very careful of buyers with very low feedback or negative feedback. EBAY is filled with scam artists, especially on high ticket items!
Yes once you have received the payment in your paypal account you are OK to send the item.
A note about paypal – Make sure you use a postage service that has proof of delivery. It costs $2.80 for registered post and this has proof of delivery (via http://www.eparcel.com.au). If you don’t use a service with proof of delivery the buyer can raise a dispute and say that they did not receive the item, if you don’t have proof of delivery Paypal will refund them and take the money back from your Paypal account.
Yes because the funds are now in your paypal account and it is your money – just because it takes a few days to clear into your bank account does not mean that you won’t get the money. Send the sold item asap or you will get bad ratings and complaints.
If the funds are not CLEARED, do NOT send anything. Wait until the funds clear. You’ll recieve a notice in your email from PayPal when (if) they clear. It only takes a few days and the wait is well worth it compared to the hassle you could go through if you ship it and don’t get paid.
