I have about $250 in my paypal… What would be the quickest way to request and receive this money? If I requested a check, how long would it take to arrive? Thanks.

Get a Paypal ATM card. You can use it to withdrawal money as well as use it where Credit Cards/Debit are accepted.
Do NOT use PayPal–you will regret it! I just started with PayPal. The buyer said she was delighted with what I sold and paid me promptly. Then PayPal froze my account. They said the system automatically flagged it as a possible problem. They won’t refund it to the buyer, so she can’t pay me by check, and they won’t unfreeze my account so I can deposit it into my bank. They said they have no idea why this happens but there’s nothing they can do and it could take weeks until they get around to investigating why their system flagged it. I’m in the process of getting a lawyer to sue them. If you look online you wills see huge problems with PayPal. Use a check!
Checks take 5-10 business days. Best bet is to have your account linked to your Debit Card Number that you can use with Pay Pal. Then you are only having to wait 24 to 36 hours.
