I will be tutoring a Korean girl for a minimal fee. The father told me that he wants to pay me through his PayPal account and therefore I should have one as well. What type of account do I apply for? Do I pay for the money sent to me? If yes, how much will I be billed for US$100?

You need to ask the father if he plans to pay you with a credit card on paypal. If so…you need a premier account to accept payments. Keep in mind that paypal charges a fee for payments with a premier account.
If he just wants to send you money as a cash transfer from his bank account..a personal paypal account will do.

Is the Korean girl living in Korea? That’s the only reason I can think of that you’d need PayPal.
Anyway, if that’s the case PayPal takes a chunk at both ends.
