I purchased an item through a website, which allowed me to pay via paypal. i have since paid for the item however it has not been recieved and the seller is not responding to phone calls or emails.
What should i do?

PayPal is notorious for having a lot of scammers using there services. Due to the in-personal nature of online transactions, especially with PayPal. People seem to get away with it at an alarming rate and there is little you can do about it.
The first step, if you’ve already contacted the seller of course, is to open a dispute using PayPal’s system. Login to your account, and click on the dispute transaction button I believe.
Put in as much information as possible, including that of the seller you purchased the item from. Any receipts you have, the situation itself, the item and etc.
If it’s a tangible item, and hasn’t been shipped to you, then you will most likely win the dispute. However if it’s a virtual item you might be out of luck. Either way, if you don’t get your money back from PayPal I would try to contact the police in the area your seller lives in. Normally they will be able to assist in recovering your money.
