Its say to add and account on paypal but i dont know if you have to add a debit account like a chequing or a credit card account.

If you mean what type of account do you register for merchant and businuess give you more options but I believe they have more fees than a personal account.
If you mean adding a credit card or a bank account you should add both. You need to add a bank account to become verified and to clear the spending limit and you need to add a credit card to get rid of withdrawal limits.
