I bought a shirt a few days ago for the first day of school, and when I look at my paypal transactions, it says payment is “in progress.” I paid with a credit card on my paypal account, and it always works. And if the payment is in progress, will it stop the company from shipping the item yet? I just hope it will come before the first day.

In-Progress: The transaction has not terminated, e.g. an authorization may be awaiting completion.
You should not worry about this, normally it changes in the next few days.
That just means in about 3-5 days it will be taken out of your credit card. This should not affect in anyway the shipping of your items because it is treated as if you paid with your credit card. Don’t worry.
At the moment I wouldn’t worry. It’s fairly norrmal to see that from time to time.
