I bought some products using paypal but not on ebay..the seller never sent items..paypal tried to re trieve his money thru his bank account but he closed his account…paypal said nothing they can do..do i have any recourse?

I have been in this situation also. I sent money via paypal and they said it is not covered when not bought on ebay. I did go to my bank and explain it and get the charges reversed as I never got my item. The bank just did it for me, no questions.
Did you use cash in your Paypal account or did your use a credit card through Paypal.If you paid with a credit card there might be a chance to reclaim your money.Explain what happened to your credit card company and have them fight it out with Paypal.You might also try going to The State Attorney General and reporting Paypal.They guarantee that your covered in these cases. I think Paypal needs to reimburse you and take it as a loss.In the future don’t pay from Paypal account or bank account. Pay Paypal using a credit card.It really bothers me that Ebay owns Paypal and also owns %25 of Craigslist.They kind of make the rules up as they go.I know there are shady people on Ebay that they let continue to sell knowing that your being ripped off.To me that’s bad business practices.If Paypal sends me an email saying these non-Ebay companies are accepting Paypal and you buy from them and don’t get the merchandise and then they say you can’t get your money back.It’s not your fault but Paypal’s.They need to do the right things for the buyers.The greedy bastards.
sorry, but theres not much else you can do. seller sounds like a scammer and youre probably not the only one he did this to.
