I’m thinking about opening Ebay and Paypal accounts. What do I need to know? What are the risks? Is is safe and is is fairly simple? Do you ever get suprise fees with Paypal?

eBay and PayPal are both great. The companies themselves are secure. They key is, however, understanding that they are both separate companies.
eBay- Where you purchase merchandise from another person/company. eBay just facilitates the sale. If for some reason, the seller does not send a product/or a defective product, eBay has guidelines with how to handle that. Also, every seller/buyer is “rated.” Look at a sellers feedback, it will indicate the level of satisfaction that other buyers have had. eBay does not store payment information/collect payments.
PayPal- PayPal is a 3rd party that facilitates payment. They keep all of your information private. You give them your CC info/bank info. When you authorize a payment, PayPal takes from your bank/CC and deposits it into the seller’s account. eBay and the seller do not see any of your information. PayPay has buyer protection as well.
I hope this helps you. Also, I have used PayPal and eBay for many purchases, and I have not had any problems.
Both are pretty safe, if you use precautions.
Never use an email link to access either PayPal or EBay.
There are many people out there who mimic EBay and PayPal emails in order to get you to link to their web site, where they get you to enter your password, then they break into your accounts.
I’ve used both for 6 years with no problem, but many acquaintances have had their passwords hijacked.
Good Luck
I have never had any problems with paypal and if there is a problem with the transaction, they will 100% back you and get you your money back. win/win
