I transferred money to my bank account on July 14. I requested $40.17 and it was taken from my bank account on July 16. Paypal said the expected clearing date will be July 22 or tomorrow. Why was the money taken from my bank account if it isn’t in my paypal account yet? What should I do?

That’s just the way it shows up. Last time I transferred $20 FROM Paypal to my Bank account and it “disappeared” off my Paypal balance immediately, but it didn’t show up in Bank account until about 3 days later. Paypal is very trustworthy, but if anything just call them and tell them what you just told us.
