I just won an auction on Ebay today. But when I went to do paypal checkout, I noticed the the price for USPS shipping insurance was $17.00 which is quite high. I stopped before making payment and contacted the seller. He said it is supposed to be $1.70. Now he is trying to figure out how to change it. But he can’t find anything helpful in the Ebay Help section. Does anybody know what to do?

You can send a payment to his Paypal address in the correct amount and he can mark the auction paid. eBay doesn’t care if you use their buttons to make transactions or not. As long as neither party complains you can handle it outside of eBay.
I really don’t think it can be fixed after the sale.
