I’ve already hooked up my credit card to paypal but I still have some funds left in my paypal balance. I want to use up these funds first before my credit card.
Eg:
Lets say i wanted to buy something online for $8. My balance has $3 and I want the other $5 to come from my credit card, how would i go about doing this?

When you are paying for the item logged in on paypal, paypal will only ask you to pay the difference. They will subtract the $3, for example, and the rest of the invoice will only be for $5. While you are still logged in and paying with paypal, they will have a list called “back up funding sources”. It will show your credit card there. Just click on it as your back up source. This is what the others are trying to explain as settings. They come up when you are paying as a list of “back up funding sources”
how did you fund your paypal account when you first opened it
did you go with a credit card or bank accountt
get on your account and go to profile to add your credit card
Profile
* Add or Edit Email
* Add or Edit Bank Account
* Add or Edit Credit Card
* Add or Edit Street Address
(this is just in case you used a bank account for the funding)
now okay lets say you funding the account with your credit card
and what you want buy is $8.00 and you only have $3.00 in the account then paypal will automatcily withdraw the extra money from
what ever account you orgiinally funded the paypal account its a checking or savings acccount account it will come from there)
if its a credit card it will come from there
