I have no money in my paypal account, but do in my bank account which is linked up. I’ve made a few payments that have been completed using paypal. But how long does it take for paypal to take the money from my bank account ? is it instant ? or a few days ? If it’s a few days, when will it show up on bank statement too ?

As you have no money in your Paypal account, Paypal will obtain authorisation from your bank to debit the money. They will pay the seller immediately (providing the transaction is authorised) and the money will usually be debited from your account within three days, depending on weekends, etc. The date the money is taken from your bank account will show on your statement, NOT the day the authorisation was made.

If you do not have any money in your Paypal account and you paid a seller on eBay, then you sent the seller a “echeck.” This means that the money has not been transfered to the seller’s Paypal account yet, but the seller knows that you are withdrawing it from your bank account. I use the bank account with Paypal as well. 90% of the time it takes 3 business days to take out the money. 8% 4 business days and 2% 5 business days. You never know how long it will take. It WILL show up in your bank statement. After about 2 business days, your bank account will show the money taken out of your bank account. Then that extra day after that is when the money is put in your Paypal account. Since you sent a echeck then you will not see the money in your paypal balance. But you will see in your recent activity that the money has been sent to the ebay seller. After the money is sent to the ebay seller, then he/she will mail it to you. So do not expect your package from the ebay seller for a week or two.
It takes 3 working days to leave your bank account, the seller is paid immediately but it won’t actually come out of your bank account for 3 working days. It will show up on your next due bank statement, for example i’ll get my June bank statement the 6th of July. So anything taken form paypal will come up on your next bank statement due. When ever that is usually end of the month or first few days of the next month!
