Im buying something of someone who was listing an item on ebay auctions and I have offered him a buy it now price and he has accepted it and removed the auction. Is it safe for me to send him the money via paypal without ebay or should I ask him to put it on ebay buy it now. But im just thinking of the ebay fees (which are rediculousley high)

Do not send any money for this item. The seller should have modified the listing to make it a buy it now for you.
Ask the seller to relist the item as a BIN, then send you the ebay item number sao you’ll be able to find the item.
This way you will be protected under the buyer’s protection. Otherwise, the seller could just take your money and run and you would have no recourse.

That’s an old scam that some of the sellers run.
He gets your money from PayPal and you get no product sent to you.
E-Bay can’t help you because they have no record of the transaction happening in the first place.
Actually what he’s trying to do is in itself a violation of E-Bay policy.
Simply, No.
Why would he want to not have a record of the item available to ebay?
