You should be fine.
Paypal is pretty secure, and it is a good way to provide separation between your bank account and potential thieves when shopping online.
I have been using Paypal with a linked bank account for years, and have not had any issue with it or any security problems.
yes it safe 75% of ebay sellers use it..
