payment methods such as pay-pal are extremely secure as they use an HTTPS format the S in HTTPS stands for secure this means that the web page is encrypted and so it to steal your details the would be hacker would have to break the encryption. So as long as your password is good and you watch out fo phishing site (fake pay-pal copys that steal your details) the method is extremely secure.
I have been using online shopping via Paypal for 2 years now and have to say, iv never had any complaints, each transaction gives you a unique code, and using settings you can set up a pin, which can be used before any transactions to verify the user, such as a debit card pin code.
The only issue i have ever had with Paypal was due to my browser sending information twice, and my payment going through twice, they thereselves recognised the discrepancy, contacted me, and gave me a full refund.
Paypal is safe, secure for all transactions, the game username is purely to credit the correct account, depending on what game/server you are using
I never use my credit card for online use. The best thing to do if you want to buy something online is pay for one of those pre-paid visa cards and put some money on it. This way, you do not have to use any of your personal information…
And I have had PayPal account for the past 1-2 years and have not had a problem with it yet. So I would probably say that you are safe to use it freely.
