I purchased an item on ebay on June 3rd, and never received it. The seller agreed to send another and then stopped communicating and the item never came. I began a PayPal dispute, and the seller still has not responded. It has been 2 days since I opened the dispute. How much longer should I wait before I escalate the PayPal dispute into a claim?

Go ahead and start the claim. I had a very similar incident. I received part of what I bought, but not all. Once I made a claim, I received the goods I paid for. I’ve cancelled the claim but Paypay keeps sending me notices that indicate the claim is still continuing. Just be aware that it may be difficult to cancel the claim once the process is started.
I would do it like right now…because even after it becomes a claim you still have to wait 10 days before they actually do anything about it. (that gives seller time to answer)…I’m going through the same thing right now. It’s really frustrating.
at least 7 – 10 days……when i dispute something at my bank (an atm shorted me money but charged out a higher amount) it takes about that long for it to come back to you after all research and paperwork have been done
I would wait until tomorrow to escalate the dispute.
Start the claim, The longer you wait the longer till you get a refund.
I would give them a week to respond.
