I think the buyer has already sent his payment through paypal. On the original item page it says: Payment was initiated on December 19, 2008 and is being processed through PayPal.

Depends on what kind of payment. Credit card and balance transfers are pretty much instantaneous. E-checks, or bank transfers, tend to take a few days to clear.
I’ve also caught wind of a new policy – if you are a new ebay seller, paypal actually holds the payments until the buyer receives the item, and leave positive feedback. Ebay just keeps getting more and more hostile for the small-seller. it’s not the place it used to be.
Sometimes the buyer pays by e-check and that can take up to ten days for the money to arrive in your account.
