They say if I do not log in on this link in 72 hours they will suspend the account. Is this accurate or is it another type of hoax? how can you tell? thanks for answering.

Hi usually paypal emails you with a message including your name not your email address. Scammers usually use your email address and the message looks completely cut & paste.
I do believe the email you recieved is 110% fake.
DO NOT click on it.
Paypal would never say something like if you don’t click on it within a certain time they will suspend the account
If you are not 100% sure your self you can always call paypal. Just click “contact us” on top the the screen sometimes its on the bottom and instead of sending a eamil (because its slow) you should just call them and they will let you know if they sent something out like that to you.
If its fake forward it to spoof@paypal.com
If you click on the link then the scammer will get your information (possibly) so I advise you not to.
I recieved something like what you described before and I called paypal to be sure and they said it is phishing mail.
You can tell they are fake by..
1. not directing you by your first name
2. threat
3. giving you a certain time to do something
4. have incorrect information
5. asking you for money or any other information
Paypal would never send you a email out of the blue if there is something wrong right when you log in paypal , it will show on the 1st screen.
Also, type in http://www.paypal.com. Do not click on any link in the email.
Go to the genuine website and log in and check everything is normal
