From what I’m looking at it appears that one must provide a personal SS# to be able to take out more than $500 per month. However the paypal account I am trying to have the limit removed from is a non-profit. I don’t want there to be some kind of problem with ownership… but I need to be able to move more money than $500/month.

Profit or not ebay have rules to prevent money laundering which can not be avoided.
plenty of crooks use and abuse ebay do not be afraid to add additional info to validate your account ebay knows not to ask the wrong questions you will have no problems if you do as they ask.
The worse that can happen is they force you to open a business account but they do not contact the tax man they just tell you you need to but its up to you if you do.
Log in to your paypal account.
Click on withdraw funds then it should say lift monthly limit.
Click the link and add a credit card or your SS number and this will lift the limit.
