How Do You Keep Paypal From Taking Money Out Of Your Bank Account?

分类: PayPal FAQ   时间: 2010-01-11   标签: , , , , , , ,

Paypal takes money out of people’s account if their account goes into the negative. One thing that can make your account go into the negative is if you get a charge back from some scamming buyer who wants to keep the item and get their money back. I hear so many horror stories and I don’t want this to happen to me . I always get tracking info, but buyers will claim all sorts of things to scam you with their credit card company. Anyway, My question (to those who know from some kind of experience and are not speculating) is “can paypal raid your bank account if its number has been taken off of your account?”

Don’t ignore dispute notices from PayPal, and they won’t reverse transactions and take money back from you.

There is pretty much only 5 ways your account can be “raided.” One way is the bank is covering a loan payment or negative balance from another account with them (basically your bank can). Another way is the government can also raid your account if you owe taxes etc. Another way is you do it your self and don’t realize it. Another is someone has your identity and is scamming you or basically robbing you blind through fraud. Last one that I’m not sure of is credit card companies.
So no paypal cannot take money from your account without your approval. They can close your paypal account though and I believe report you to chex systems. Then your normal bank account would be closed and you would reported to collections. Like I said I think they can, but being it is not a normal bank not sure if that is how it works.

First off, PayPal will NEVER automatically debit funds from any of your funding sources if it goes negative. The only way PayPal will extract funds from your account if its negative is if you attempt to send a payment. For example, lets say a chargeback caused your account to go negative $50. Even though you’ve provided all your evidence, PayPal still has to wait for a response from the credit card company in order to recover the funds. Now lets say you want to send a payment of $100 for something you won on eBay. While going through the checkout process you’ll notice that the full transaction will be for $150, $50 of which will resolve the negative balance. So to answer your question, regardless of whether or not you take off your bank account, PayPal will not debit funds from it without your consent.
    I Hope this helps!
