well i got a new debit card and i went to register it and it says it is invalid however i have noticed one thing, one paypal it says enter you card number and there is 8 digits however my card has 9. The error basically says sort code and card number in correct.
The card is a “Maestro”

From what I understand, Maestro cards are linked to a bank account of some sort, generally a checking account.
It looks like your best bet is to register with your bank account information. By that I mean using the routing number of your bank, and account number to your bank account. The result is basically the same as far as how money is paid from your account is concerned.
Credit card numbers are 16-digits long and routing numbers to banks are 9-digits long. I will also suggest you make sure you are on the correct screen.
Otherwise you can always call pay pal at 1-402-935-2050.

IT might be that Maestro does not work with paypal if it does NOT have a visa or matercard logo on it.
