I have never used PAYPAL in my life. I am starting an account on ebay, and most of sellers ask to pay them with PAYPAL. I live abroad (south america). I own an American Express international card, and hope to use it in order to buy stuff from ebay. I need a step by step tutorial to use PAYPAL. Thanks a lot.

It’s better and safer for you when you have Paypal account. You can open it just by going to their website and applying for new account.
Then they will ask you to connect your paypal with your bank account and when it’s done, you can safely use paypal when buying stuff on ebay and they will transfer the money from your bank…it’s free of charge.

Hi, Paypal is a website merchant account. It allows the person or business to accept money from others, as well as pay money to others.
Prior to using or signing up with a paypal account, you must first have a bank account. Upon signing up with paypal, you will be asked for that bank account information. Paypal will then make 2 small, random deposits into that bank account you gave to them. The deposits take approximately 2-3 business days to show up. You can either call the bank to check on them, or if you have online access to your bank account, you can look for the deposits online.
Some banks may condense the 2 deposits into one, so if there is only 1 deposit, you must fill out a form on paypal so they can give you the actual deposited amount. These random deposits are just a way for paypal to make sure that the transaction process is working properly. The deposits will only be a few cents, like .12 or .15.
Once you find the deposit amounts, you must report them back to Paypal so they know the transaction worked. You can then transfer money from your bank account into your paypal account.
Also, paypal never takes money from your bank account without your permission.
I have used paypal for 8 years and never had a problem, it is great!
