I sold a textbook to someone in another state… He said he’ll pay by paypal. My book isn’t listed on ebay, its on craigslist. How does this work?

paypal doesn’t need to be used with Ebay. Just sign up for an account. You can use it for any and all purchases or sales. You can use it when simply selling items on Craigslist, or if you come up a few bucks short for pizza with the guys — send someone a few bucks that way, if they have a paypal acct. If you sign up for the free acct, you won’t be able to accept credit card transactions, which many people seem to use. If you sign up for the acct that allows these, you’ll be paying a small fee every time you RECEIVE money from someone. Not too big of a deal though, for the added convenience.
Beware of scammers though. NEVER open emails from paypal or allow yourself to login via these emails. People are scammed all of the time and paypal doesn’t seem to really do much about it, at least yet. Just use common sense. It’s a great tool for monetary transactions, but not a completely safe one if you’re careless.
Go to http://www.paypal.com and register. You have to be registered with paypal in order for that person to pay using paypal. Then you will need to give the person your e-mail address so they can pay you. After they say they have paid, sign into your paypal account to make sure the money is there before you send the book.
Go to paypal.com and sign up, it’s free and you can send and receive money from people for anything, not just ebay.
