For either sending or receiving money, I don’t want people to see my full name and address. Can I change the settings so people just see an email address or something?

Your best bet would be to contact paypal and talk to them first.I would suggest using a post office box and maybe changing name to initials some even use a company name etc which is not unusual for buyers and sellers.Firstly though check with Paypal on your specific concerns.Good Luck.
Why would you want to do that? Would you give money to someone if you had no idea who that person is? Don’t you think that being anonymous would encourage people not to pay you because they don’t trust you?
What about PayPal? Apparently, they are very careful about potential fraud, and some people say that they are in fact too careful because PayPal froze their accounts for up to 180 days. Or, if your identity is not known, the transaction looks suspicious even if you are the one who pays (mind you, only because a person pays, that does not mean that they are using their own credit card, bank account, PayPal account, etc.).
If you are collecting donations for a charity, PayPal won’t allow it (they become suspicious once you get too much money, or too many transactions). If you are doing anything illegal, of course law enforcement can get whatever personal information you deem confidential, even if PayPal or some other company keeps it secret from the general public. But if you are honest, why keep your name and address secret? You just can’t do it in this day and age, although you can decide to actually go to a store where nobody knows you and pay cash without giving your name.
