im thinking of selling something to someone (not through ebay) i use paypal all the time to make payments and stuff but never to recieve money. how will i know when i have recieved this money through paypal? that way i know it is safe to send the item

Whenever I’ve received a PayPal payment from someone, I’ve received a notification email from PayPal. (I just have the regular PayPal account.) Just be sure to check the email account which you have registered with them!
They will send you a email to let you know you received the funds. Just watch the email address you have on file with paypal and you should get something. After you receive the email just log into your paypal account and hit confirm transaction and the money is in your account. Good Luck
