PayPal will only really help if you bought something from Ebay. If not then you may be out of luck unless you used a visa or mastercard for the purchase. By that I mean that you did not have funds in your PayPal account and that when you made the purchase PayPal took the funds from a Credit Card that you had attached to your account. If PayPal took the money directly from your bank account you’re out of luck.
The trick is to always pat with a Visa or Mastercard that you have attached to your PayPal account. Don’t leave any cash in your PayPal and don’t let them take the funds from your Bank checking account. If you do that then you file your calim with PayPal. You’ll lose but… then go and file a claim with your visa or mastercard. They in tuen will credit your account and debit PayPal. PayPal will then in turn debit the seller that you had filed the claim against to get their money back. Everybody wins except the crook! I got this from a rep at PayPal by the way after I got beat for $250. Since then I always pay with Visa. Hope this helps.
Depends on how you were scammed. Did not receive the item versus was it not as described? If you file a chargeback through your credit card company normally you give them brief details and they do the work. Once a chargeback is lodge paypal will do another investigation on the transaction.
