I made a paypal account but I’m not sure if I can receive payments through paypal, how can I be sure?

1) You should check your account type:
You can receive money with a personal paypal account IF the person paying you uses funds already in THEIR paypal account or a bank transfer. If they use their credit card thru PayPal you can not receive that with a personal account.
