hi I ordered £50 worth of stuff from gamechimp, now they dont exist on the internet, i paid via paypal with my debit card, i phoned barclays and they said it is upto paypal to solve (e.g. refund) the money, so I know that some people on here are saying that they too paid via paypal with their card and are guaranteed their money back one way or another……………………………… I think those people need to get their advise right as the bank will not refund you, as it is to do with paypal and yourselves…………………. if anyone does get a refund please tell me. Also has anyone ever got threw to a human at paypal?

not covered for £500 on this trasaction as it was not purchased from an
eBay listing.
PayPal Buyer Protection is only offered for eBay purchases and the level of
cover is stated on each listing.

This is the response i have recently recieved from paypal .
after my ongoing dispute and they have e-mailed gamechimp and had given them ten days to respond i.e chance to take their money and run!
i think we should all contact each other and then get help from watchdog i have already been in touch with consumer rights.
Surely this is theft and unless the laws have changed recently theft is illegal isn’t it?

I paid via paypal £79.99 to gamechimp on the 22nd Sept . paypal debit my account using direct debit on the 26th Sept.
I rang my bank on Saturday evening (29th) disputing the payment and asked them to see if this was covered by direct debit indemnity , they processed my claim and I now have a refund in my bank account today. Please try this I hope you all get your money back.

I have completely lost faith in paypal, They are doing nothing but fobbing us all off and i doubt that any of us who paid through paypal will see a penny! Either paypal allowed gamechimp to use their so called secure payment system or gamechimp forged it, either way paypal are closing ranks because if they do admit to have nothing to do with gamechimp how damaging will that be to all the other websites out there that use paypal as a payment method??? Or did they simply not even bother to check out gamechimp and let them go ahead which makes paypal liable to refund us because we all believed we was safe! Neither of these are going to be admitted by paypal and nor will they accept any fault, Why only guarannte ebay purchases through paypal? I will never use paypal again to purchase but one thing does make me wonder when we paid gamechimp im pretty sure paypal took their fees from OUR money!
I am also writing to watchdog as paypal should be shamed for hooking up with a scam website……..
Hi, The same thing happened with me. I ordered £108 worth of products from Gamechimp. I didn’t know whether my claim would be with Paypal or my credit card company (Natwest). I thought I would contact Natwest to make them aware of the fraud, and obviously to stop them taking any more money from my account. They said, they would send me a form (which they did), and would sort it all out for me. I hope you manage to sort it out. PS. Glad to see gamechimp don’t exist on the internet any more, as I was concerned that other people would be ripped off , like me.
i got through yesterday to someone at paypal and they assured me i would get my money! how true that is ive no idea. the telephone conversation has also been logged on my paypal dispute claim. ive also logged complaint with credit card company to try to double my chances of retrieving the money. will believe it when i see it thogh.
