You can send them an invoice, it wouldn’t hurt. Typically you should give the buyer 7-10 days to pay for the item before doing anything drastic like reporting as a non-payer. As far as the sales tax question, consult your state tax laws to determine whether to charge them tax. Although all of that info. should be put into your listing so your buyer has all the info. before deciding to place the bid.

Have you ever sold anything on eBay?
Send them an invoice if they have not paid yet. Did you have any other methods of payments that you would accept? Maybe they sent a check or money order through the mail. You may want to go to your item to check your payment options.
Also, is your paypal correctly associated to your eBay account?
It does take some people a few days to send payment though. If and when they send it through paypal, it will be immediate. But the buyers response to winning the auction is not always immediate. They have to actually pay for it. It just doesn’t come out of whatever accounts they may have.
My rule is, it must be paid for within three days, or I put it up for auction again.

Depends if they send it via an eCheque – usually takes a week to clear if they have enough funds in their PayPal account.

i wouldnt add sales tax unless stated in your auction… also give someone like 3 days to pay for it… sometimes they can send it through paypal by credit card which is instant but sometimes they have to send an E-check from their checking account which could take a couple of days to clear

Paypal payments are almost instant. It take about 3 minutes at most, if they did things right. I know, because I bough quite a bit of stuff using Paypal.

They can pay INSTANTLY if they choose, as soon as the auction is over, and you will get an email within seconds informing you that they have paid.
You can send an invoice too, it doesn’t hurt.
Up to them to decide when they pay, some buyers never pay. They don’t follow through.
If you didn’t mention sales tax in your listing, it isn’t fair of you to add it.
If you are in buisness in the same state, you may have to eat the sales tax. If you are shipping out of state, it shouldn’t be a concern of yours.
There is no sales tax on interstate sales.

usually, i send an invoice a couple hours after the auction ends or at least the next day if they haven’t payed yet. most people that have bought from me pay shortly after the auction ends and i think the longest that it has taken was a day or two. i’ve never had anyone take too long where i’ve had to report them or anything though.

Unless otherwise stated ,payments are normally to be made in 7 calender days of the close of an auction.Adding sales tax must be stated in the listing or the buyer has a right to dispute the sale and viod it.ebay will give you a strike too. I have 80 buy’s all with 100% positive feedback. Contact buyer and give him invoice with shipping if you know his location.Communication is the best way to resolve an problem…..George
