You need either a bank account, or a credit /debit card. The money does need to come from somewhere. There are prepaid debit cards available, that may work for you.

They must have somewhere to deposit the money – they do not send a person to your door with cash. To send money you can link a credit card to PayPal, but you must have a bank account to receive $.
