Does paypal have an account number like a real bank account that I can use for direct deposit?

Paypal works *with* your bank accounts and credit cards, they don’t replace them. Paypal does offer a credit card, but that would work like any other credit card (Can’t get a business to direct deposit to your credit card account). There is the Paypal ATM/Debit card, but that’s a Mastercard venture for *withdrawing* from your Paypal account, not for depositing.
I’m guessing you want to bypass the delay in transferring money from your bank account into your Paypal account, which can take a few days. Unless you can get the one who is giving you the money to send it directly to your Paypal email, I don’t think another avenue is open. They’d need to have a Paypal account as well, and use the Send Money option.
I’ve been frustrated with the Paypal-to-bank delay until the people who were sending us the money started using EBT (electronic bank transfers). I just revisited the Paypal help center looking for relevant material and couldn’t find a means for direct depositing. They don’t offer a routing or account number. Sorry. Maybe I just didn’t look hard enough.
I don’t think that you can do a direct deposit with them. You could however, do a direct deposit to a checking account, and then have your funds transferred over to paypal. Funds transfers take about 3-4 business days to post though. I’d call paypal 1-866-888-6080 and ask them directly. The phone number is toll free.
