You dont even need a paypal account to buy things. You can just go to paypal, put in his paypal address and use a debit card to pay. I bought some software online like that.

You only need a Paypal account to receive funds. A credit card is not necessary. You also can spend any money you have in your account without having a credit card. Here is a factoid: Paypal is now the largest bank in number of customers, world wide. They have in excess of 17 million customers. Paypal is owned by ebay.
I think you can add your bank account number on there. If you have a debit card, you can also use that too. PayPal is pretty safe and if you happen to get hacked, they’ll be quick to investigate as soon as you report it.
If you don’t want to get a credit card, just go buy one of the reloadable Visa cards from Walmart. That’s what I use and it seems to work fine.
