i have about $350 in my pay pal account. if i were to buy something for $450 could i use that $350 and then pay the xtra 100 with a credit card? if not can i transfer real money to pay pal?

Yes, you can. If you put the credit card into your paypal account. It will omit the money in your paypal and take out the additional money from your credit/debit card.
it will say -$100 if you dont have a bank account attached
Paypal is simply an online copy of your debit/credit card. so if the money is on your debit card, and your debit card is in paypal, then the money is there. You can do a cash/paypal combined, but you would have to work something out with the seller.
