I don’t mind giving a small percentage of my sales but when I last signed up to PayPal I was charged £11 without buying or selling anything! Is there something I did wrong. I think the premier subscription is the appropriate one.

PayPal fees are as follows:
Purchase payments received (monthly) Fee per transaction
£0.00 GBP – £1,500.00 GBP 3.4% + £0.20 GBP
£1,500.01 GBP – £6,000.00 GBP 2.9% + £0.20 GBP
£6,000.01 GBP – £15,000.00 GBP 2.4% + £0.20 GBP
£15,000.01 GBP – £55,000.00 GBP 1.9% + £0.20 GBP
above £55,000.00 GBP* 1.4% + £0.20 GBP
There is no fee to open an account. Also there is no annual or other fee.
I only ever got charged once, the only time I have sold something. I’m pretty sure I signed up for the premier subscription. I was never charged when I was the buyer. It is very cumbersome finding the link to ask them questions, but I think you should ask.
